First we got to pick the animals...
Brayden picked out a koala bear, Gavin picked out a teddy bear, and we decided upon a super soft doggie for Abbie. Then, it was time to stuff! When Kathy, our Build-A-Bear helper, asked Brayden who the doggie was for, he replied, "My sister. We're going to go get her soon!" She gave him kind of a puzzled look and I said, "Where does she live right now, Brayden?" He said, "China, but she's coming home very soon." Kathy said, "OH! You're adopting?! I was adopted!" As it turns out, she was adopted through our homestudy agency's domestic program way back when.
Before sewing up the animals, the boys each made a wish for Abbie on little hearts and stuffed them into her doggie. Here is a quick video:
(Not sure how the video will embed for people reading the blog vie email subscription - here's the link if it doesn't come through and you're dying to watch it :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD__gL4i_Gw)
And the finished products! Brayden and Gavin decided to dress their animals in the Spiderman costume.
Abbie's doggie will wait in her crib until it's time to pack it up for China!
Thanks so much, Uncle Rich!
